Fall Fun

This post is a little late, but I still wanted to share. We've been having lots of fun enjoying the fall weather and our new part of town. We took Daddy back to the pumpkin patch, and then headed to the Smyrna Fall Festival.

Happy Halloween!

Team Rios had such a fantastic Halloween. We're so happy to be in a big, family friendly neighborhood. We had a Halloween block party on Sunday, carved our pumpkin Sunday night, and Will got to really trick or treat this year. He made out like a bandit. Here's some photo evidence of our fantastic time!

Of course, we needed to practice wearing our costume a few times this week, too.

I Love Teacher Work Day

And, really, who doesn't? (Wait, Gram. Gram hates Teacher Work Days. But, that's a true, albeit inside joke, and I digress.)

Anyway, Will's school had a teacher work day recently, and I was more than glad to take a vacation day to hang out with Will. The weather was beautiful, and things have been uber crazy since our move, so I wanted to make sure we really made the very most of the day.

After a quick walking tour of the new Babies/Toys R Us Mega Ultra Super Store, we headed to the park. My boy sure does love to swing.

Next, Will wanted to climb the amphitheater seating. He also loves climbing. Is this not the most confident strut you've ever seen in your life?

After running and swinging, it was time to eat. So, we settled in for a picnic in the park.

Next up, we hit the pumpkin patch. This was an even bigger hit than I imagined!

After all of this fun, Will was exhausted and fell right to sleep as we rocked in his room. I love our rocking time so much. And, after naps for both of us (yay!), we decorated the small pumpkin that Will picked out at the patch.

Oh, what a day. I wanted it to be fantastic, and Will told me before bed that he had a "special day." It was for both of us.

Inside Imagination

I love watching Will play, watching him create and imagine. I really love when I can catch the pure joy on his face, when he’s creating a whole new world of fun.

Here, he’s rediscovered a singing drum. He loves it even more now that he knows his ABCs and is interested by Spanish words.

“Hey, you’ve got a friend in me.” Woody and Buzz are big time favorites, and there is no end to the fun these guys have together.

I got these little Sesame Street friends to decorate Will’s birthday cake this year, but they’ve really gone the extra yard.  They ride in a Sesame Street school bus, hide in all kinds of fun places, and sometimes they even turn into bath friends.

Little Buzz was just a bonus action figure with a set of Toy Story books that Will got for his birthday. I never could have imagined that Little Buzz was going to be so important to Will. We have a "Little Buzz never leaves the house" rule, but he can still find his way into some crazy hiding places, and time stops until Little Buzz is rescued. Will prefers to have Little Buzz in hand always. He feeds Little Buzz, reads to him, washes him in the bathtub and gives him kisses before bed. Little Buzz is way more than "just a toy."

Self-Portraits

Will loves taking pictures, especially of himself.

Cheese!

I guess I must take a lot of pictures. Including these pictures I took of Will pretending to take pictures of me with his monitor.
