The Grandma Show

It's always been important to me that Will spends time with us in the kitchen. It was such a big part of my childhood, from learning with my Granny to playing diner with my sisters during the summer, trying to turn leftovers into a new "gourmet" meal. I've been very pleased at how much Will likes to help me or Gus in the kitchen, and I hope it turns into a lifetime love for him.

The other day, I turned on the Food Network, mostly just for some background noise. Paula Deen was on. After a few minutes, Will stopped playing and sat down to watch. He asked me about the food she was making and if we could "play cooking show." Almost every day since, Will has asked to watch the "Grandma show" and then asked what we could cook.

I shared this story with my mom and Gram came through with a surprise for Will. His very own apron and cooking utensils. This is us breaking them in for our weekly homemade pizza night.

  1. Great pics! He will no doubt be a lover of all things culinary. The Brinkley's look forward to whatever Will decides to create in the kitchen!
