My Mind is Racing from Chasing Pirates

That's a line from a new Norah Jones song that Will loooves. In the afternoons when I get Will from school, he's not always keen on a 45 minute ride strapped into a car seat. But, more often than not, he's asleep before the end of the first Norah song. Its awesome! And, I highly recommend the CD even if you don't have a baby you need to soothe.

Will has his 9 month checkup yesterday, and the doctor said everything was great. He's at 21 lbs and 28.5 inches, head measuring at 46.75 inches. Will lost some weight when he was sick, but he's gained at least one pound back since the week of Christmas. His appetite is really in full force again, which is great. He's starting to eat some bits and pieces of our regular dinners now. He's really enjoying the new flavors and textures. Tonight, he enjoyed some of my macaroni and cheese. We've found he's a cheese fan--he sucked the cheese off the noodles before spitting them out. I can't believe his next checkup will be after his first birthday!

Will has been showing off his new standing skills for us. He's started pulling up on the side of his crib, which makes us nervous. But, its high enough, and he's not strong enough to really go anywhere. Tonight, he stood up, holding onto our ottoman, on his own for at least 10 minutes. Gus was behind him in case of a fall, but Will did all the work himself. He was having a really great time.


Will really loves remotes and pretty much all things electronic. Gus got him a baby "cell phone" that he loves, and Will got a remote of his very own in his stocking for Christmas. But, even though he has his very own remote now, he likes to play with as many as possible at one time.
