Coffee Mate

Some of my best memories from growing up happened in the kitchen. Sitting on the counter watching my Granny make her homemade biscuits, which I have tried to duplicate. Playing diner with my sisters during the summer and creating new dishes out of our leftovers. I've always loved being in the kitchen.

When I was a little girl, one of my favorite things to do was to make coffee for my dad on the weekends. My dad was a serious coffee drinker, several pots a day sometimes. And, he liked to sleep late. So, he taught me how to make his coffee early on.

I don't think it really occurred to me that I was duplicating this already. But, Will likes to be close to us in the mornings, and there are just some things that have to get done before we're all ready to leave...like filling up our travel mugs. One morning, I let Will sit on the counter while I was working on our coffee, and he loved it. Now, every morning, Will and I make Daddy's coffee together. I talk to him about what I'm doing, and he likes to touch the spoon, open and close the creamer and open and close Gus's mug. He gets so excited about it, and I know its better than the coffee I mix up for myself after they leave in the mornings, because Daddy's mug is full of Will's love!

Concentrating hard on the process.

Success!

Will is number 1!
